We wish all of you a very happy and healthy 2OO9!
We just narrowly missed a real White Christmas this year and woke up on Boxing Day to the most beautiful snowfall. Very festive!
A week of activities ending in a very convivial Hogmanay dinner with a group of friends, which lasted literally until dawn has left us feeling, well a bit partied out!
Glad to be getting back to normal, our thoughts are now turning to the year ahead and the preparations for the coming season.
So, what are the plans for 2009?
Apart from all the usual bits and pieces of maintenance we are starting to do some research on offering walking holidays at Les Crouquets.
A week of activities ending in a very convivial Hogmanay dinner with a group of friends, which lasted literally until dawn has left us feeling, well a bit partied out!

Apart from all the usual bits and pieces of maintenance we are starting to do some research on offering walking holidays at Les Crouquets.
The Dordogne is a stunning region and exploring it on foot is one of the best ways to fully appreciate it's beauty.
We are lucky to have a whole range of walks here, some starting literally on our doorstep.
We're going to be out and about, walking the walks (and hopefully losing a few post Christmas kilos in the process!)
The pitch & putt course will have the greens resown in March so we'll be tracking down good suppliers of the proper grass as well as planting more shrubs and trees around the perimeter.
We are lucky to have a whole range of walks here, some starting literally on our doorstep.

We're also going to be on the lookout for 2 or 3 miniature goats to join our troupe!
Unfortunately Bonbons proved to be just a little too feisty for us and no matter what we did she always found a way to break out of her enclosure and devour any plant in sight (more often than not the nice ones and rarely the weeds!).
She also gave Susie, the donkey, a hard time and in spite of her very endearing personality we had to concede she was just too high maintenance! Not wanting to separate her from Nougat (her Mum) we gave them both to a very good goat farm and they are no doubt now providing the owners with some delicious goats' cheese! Although Amar became quite adept at milking we never did get round to the art of making cheese! Maybe next time ....
