Amar & I met in Scotland in 1981 while at university. After 15 years of working for other people we decided to build a business for ourselves.
Amar's love of cooking and my interest in home furnishing, inspired us to open an hotel.
We hoped to create somewhere where people would feel they weren't just another number, with all the comforts of home at hand, a place where you could totally relax.
In short, somewhere we would love to find ourselves... so that's what we did.
10 very happy and successful years later proved we did something right but with 2 children we knew we needed to leave hotel life behind and start something new.

What could we do so the children would benefit too?
Where could we create an equally comfy place and yet relax more?
We settled on France. ( Amar's grandparents were French and he speaks the language fluently, so that helped!)
We spent over a year searching, then we found Les Crouquets and the rest is history!
Since arriving here we have worked harder than ever (who said life would be easier?!) but we have never looked back.
Not ones to rest on our laurels, we know that homely doesn't mean compromising on standards. We still aim to constantly improve and offer the very best we can.
For us, tucked away in a green Dordogne valley, Les Crouquets is a breath of fresh air. We're sure it will be for you too.
